Trousers- well a variation on the chino is most acceptable. Denim is a no-no. Cargo trousers with bulky outside pockets are also often proscribed. In these trews you show up for miles around, so the incentive to keep the ball – and so you – on the fairway and places you wish to be seen is huge. Shoes can be an issue. Trainers used to be out, as it has to be golf shoes at most courses. They still are, but the good news for those without golf shoes is that the modern golf shoe often looks so like a pair of trainers it is hard often to work out what people are wearing. Spikes are another matter – many courses required plastic cleats these days rather than metal spikes as these do not leave spike marks on the green.

Rather brilliantly, the pro shops at some of those courses which would not allow these shirts were some of those which stocked them. With shirts the normal rule is that they have to have collars. If in doubt go for a polo shirt and chinos or slacks – that will get you on any course anywhere. Oh except those places which require all golfers to wear a red top…Members may speak to those not dressed accordingly or bring it to the attention of Board of Management, General Manager, Golf Manager or Bar Manager. Your assistance in this matter would be appreciated. Members are required to take pride in their club, in regards to dress and conduct generally.

All members, visitors, guests and caddies are required to dress in good taste at all times and so maintain the dignity of the game of golf and Club standards. Members are to comply with the following requirements which are regarded as the minimum acceptable standards. If members and guest attire does not meet the above minimum standards they will be asked politely to purchase suitable clothing at the Pro shop or to leave the premises. It is not necessary for members and guests to strictly adhere to the clubs dress code detailed below when they are visiting the club for a short period (i.e. 5-10 minutes) to do business with the office or Pro Shop, access the locker room or to collect equipment from the locker room or buggy room. In these events the dress code will be relaxed to a degree but will continue to disallow rubber thongs, board shorts, surf wear and singlets. This relaxation does not at any stage extend to entry to the sprig bar, dining area or to the course practice facilities.

Access to the men's change rooms must be via the back of the club. All shirts must be either collared or turtle neck golf shirts and worn tucked into trousers. Tailored shorts with a belt are permitted but are to be worn with predominately white socks which are visible above the shoe line. Trousers and shorts must be tailored type with a fly. Socks are to be worn with long trousers but may be coloured. Regulation golf shoes (soft spikes only) must be worn on the course. Sandals, jogging shoes and tennis type shoes are not regarded as golf attire. After 5pm on competition days, members and guest are expected to shower and change before entering the Dining and Lounge Areas. Members and guest must wear long trousers. Shirts may be opened but only to the second button and tucked in. Dress jumpers, pullovers or vests are permitted in the Main Bar, Dining room and Lounge areas. Coats and ties are optional. Tailored shorts may also be worn with collared shirts and golf shirts tucked into shorts.

Acceptable street shoes with socks are required provided the shoes are closed in (i.e. no thongs, sandals, Crocs, slipper styled shoes or scuffs) On Sundays, Fridays and for Club Sponsored Social Events a more relaxed dress code applies with tailored denim clothing permitted. Men must wear collared shirts with golf shirts tucked into tailored slacks or trousers, however shirts, designed so, may be worn over trousers. Tailored shorts may also be worn with collared shirts and golf shirts tucked into shorts. However shirts, designed so, may be worn over shorts. Smart casual shoes with socks are permitted in the Clubhouse and surrounds provided the shoes are closed in (i.e. no thongs, sandals, Crocs, scuffs or slipper style shoes) Denim jeans without metal studs may be worn. After Club Closing day and prior to Club Opening day each year in addition to the relaxed dress code above. Closed in shoes (Deck / Boat / Style) without socks can be worn in the Clubhouse and surrounds.

Commercial available style golf clothing must be worn as a minimum Golf attire should be neat, tidy and appropriate for the conditions. Shirts must be tucked in unless specifically designed to be worn out and preferably have a collar. Sleeveless collared golf shirts, turtle and polo neck shirts are permitted. Tailored slacks, shorts, skirts and ? Regulation golf shoes (soft spikes only) must be worn on the course with predominately white socks or coloured socks which coordinate with their golfing attire and are visible above the shoe line Sandals, jogging shoes and tennis type shoes are not regarded as golf attire. After 5pm on mixed competition days members and guests are expected to shower and change before entering the Dining and Lounge Areas. Smart casual wear is the minimum requirement. Leggings/tights may only be worn with a dress, skirt or long top. Ladies may wear both closed in shoes and open sandals. Rubber thongs, Croc's, joggers and slipper style shoes are not allowed.
