footjoy golf shoes hawaii

What's the dress code like? I have no issues with wearing a golf shirt but don't want to pack my golf shoes. Will i be ok with regular cross-trainers or running shoes? Most golf courses don't have a min. requirement regarding shoes. Usually they just don't want metal spikes (so soft spikes only). I plan on playing golf when I get to Maui and I'm not bringing golf shoes. If anything, some places rent shoes for $10-20, but I think you'll be ok. Maui Prince's golf course was running a deal when we were there in July..."No clubs, no shoes, no problem". Ended up paying 159.99 + tax for 18 holes with cart, club rental (Taylormade), shoes (Nike) and free sleeve of balls (Taylormade). All those extras combined would have cost about $100...so it was a great deal. I played Kaanapali Gold course a couple of weeks ago and played with people wearing cross trainers. I recall the dress code to be a collared shirt and no cut-off denim shorts (may have been no denim of any kind).
As an editorial: the course was not worth the money, and I only paid $129 for a morning round. Well groomed, but the traffic noise and the slow play were deal breakers. You don't get the resort service that I expected either, considering the cost of a full price round. I have had a much better experiece at Kapalua and Wailea courses; expensive but you felt you had experienced something special. By the way, if you can afford it, the GREATEST golf experience in Hawaii this year has got to be the Challange at Manele. I played a couple of rounds there (same day) and the course conditions were perfect! Beautiful views from start to finish, there was hardly anybody on the course and the staff were very accomodating. I account this to the Lanai visitors being way down this year, so in previous years it may have been different. 3 destinations mentioned in this post jtrue, which course is the Maui Prince Course? I know of the Prince course on Kauai, but not of anything named the Prince on Maui.
Perhaps you mean the Makena course, which is pretty close to the Makena Prince resort, but I've always heard the course referred to as Makena. I've played both of those over the years, and they're both lovely and challenging. I've also played the courses at Kapalua, and if you can afford the exhorbitant rates, the Plantation Course is one of the best golf experiences around.puma latest shoes 2015 I'll be headed to Maui in a month, and I'll be looking for a new (less costly) option. nike free golf shoes buyI'm considering the two courses in the central valley, does anyone have experience with them?best soccer cleats to buy 2014 One destination mentioned in this post Another "bargain" if you want to play some beautiful courses is in Kapalua.
There is a special until Nov. All you can play for 5 days....$499.00 for off property guests and $399.00 for guests staying at any of the villas. That includes the Bay course or Plantation course. Dave, I was told by some who had just played there that Kahili was very nice, and reasonable as well. Wish I'd made the drive instead of playing at Kaanapali :( Aloha from Makena Resort! Dave, don't neglect Makena Golf Course (the golf course currently managed by the Maui Prince Hotel). Specials ranging from $60 - $159 in various forms are available. Allow me to introduce myself as the Golf Sales Manager for the Maui Prince Hotel and Makena Golf Course. Let me know if you need further information. Makenagirl, its a pleasure to hear from you. We've played both Makena courses in the past, and enjoyed them a great deal. I do have a quick question for you specifically. On a previous trip, on a tip from the concierge at Napili Kai, we got up VERY early on our first day (we were still mostly on east coast time) and played the Plantation Course at Kapalua well before the norrmal tee times.
If we show up at say 6 AM at Makena, could we play before the normal tee times? The shop opens at 6:00am daily. We may be able to get you out, first off, sometime after that. We've got the maintenance crew out there and wouldn't want to impede on your experience. We'll work something out. Gail, I'll ask for ya when we get there, and again when we get done.
