Pacers - Princeton is one of five members of the Pacers family.  Their other locations are in Washington DC and three cities in Virginia: Alexandria, Arlington, and Fairfax. Their website offers, “As part of Pacers Running, we focus on providing excellent customer service through our personalized fit process and extensive product offerings. We look forward to being there #ForEveryRun and celebrating the accomplishments and journeys of all runners here in Princeton.” 9.  Fleet Feet Sports - Hoboken
604 Washington Street, Hoboken Fleet Feet Sports is a well-known name in the running community. The Hoboken store offers multiple weekly group runs, a cash-back rewards program, and they even host or sponsor races throughout the year. Along with supporting local area clubs like HOHA and the Elysianettes, they put on innovative events like Instagram Photo Contests and a Summer Soldiers Challenge.  Unique to their brand is a six step “FIT Process” outlined in their website.  Although Hoboken is known for its revelty at night, Fleet Feet Sports offers the community another type of fun. 8.  Road Runner Sports- Shrewsbury 490 Broad Street, Shrewsbury One of the few shoe retailers in the beach area, this RRS supports many local events such as the Jersey Girl Triathlon, Newton Endless Summer Running Series, Little Silver 5k, Harbour House 5k, and the Race for the Cure.  Along with hosting in-store events, they also host packet pickups for local races.  This just makes them an invaluable asset to the running community.

Lead by Mike Conforti, Sneaker Factory Millburn strives to provide the best experience for all runners, whether it is a first timer trying to complete a 5k, or an experienced athlete looking to crush his or her PRs. Their website asserts, “Whether you were referred from your doctor, training for a 5k, contemplating your first triathlon event or just hoping to graduate from walking to running, we would love to have the opportunity to meet you and be your resource for all things running.” Sneaker Factory, with a third store in Basking Ridge, also involves itself in roughly one hundred local races, including the President’s Cup in Millburn.  This Millburn store is a small, cozy place that even plays host to post-race awards ceremonies, which makes it that much more unique! Their website is here. 5.  Runner’s Haven - Randolph 477 NJ-10 #114, Randolph Runners in Randolph and the surrounding towns are very familiar with Runner’s Haven, a specialty store located in northern New Jersey.
Runner’s Haven has nothing but great reviews from its customers, and if you go at the right time, you may run into one of their special guest professional athletes such as Ashley Higginson. Being a part of the Florham Park Sneaker Factory is truly a unique experience.  His expertise and passion for  running has resulted in several exciting events that take place in the store. Jacobs frequently brings in high-profile guest speakers such as Alan Webb (3:46.91 Mile and American Record Holder), Robby Andrews (World Team member at 1500 meters), and Kyle Merber (3:51 miler and Columbia grad). His enthusiasm for running and helping people truly shows through in the work he does in his store and community, and this makes a trip to his store more than worth it. She manages her store under the philosophy that the customers' running needs are the most important part of the business.  On the side, she co-owns and co-directs many races with Chris Russo for the greater Morristown community.
She states, “It is important not only to be able to recommend shoes and other running gear, but also to be able to give training advice or suggest a fun local running route.  We want the store to be a place that runners of all abilities enjoy, whether they are coming in to buy or not.“ Morristown Running Company’s goal of being a one-stop shop for all things running carries over into the two group runs they offer from the store weekly: Saturday at 9:00am and Wednesday at 6:15pm.  They also offer a coaching group, “Run This Town,” along with other monthly events from the store. Their Facebook page is here. 2.  Freehold Runner’s High 130 Schanck Road, Freehold Chances are, you’ve heard of Runner’s High. Whether it is the mystical feeling you get during a run, or the running store in Freehold, you can’t go wrong with either one.
Runner’s High, founded by Rob DeFelippis, has its flagship store in Metuchen.  The Freehold store is a unique resource to the beach area, as it’s fraught with talented and committed runners.  Co-founded by DeFelippis and father/son combination Craig and Jim Segal, the staff is a very knowledgeable, passionate group.  Also on the payroll is Dean Shonts, the “Father of NJ Running.”  The man who opened up the first running store in NJ in 1978, he is now retired, living near the shore, and helping out Runner’s High.  Such a great cast of employees makes a visit to this store quite different than going to Dick's Sporting Goods! The store is also involved in many local events and races, such as the Belmar Chase, the NJ Marathon, and the Shore Running Experience Camp. Owner Dave Welsh is committed to improving the experience of all runners, and people, in South Jersey. Welsh says, “We are all about the SJ community.  From the free group run and stroller runs we offer, to having Mommy and me classes for moms to work out with their children.  We do 1-2 events per week that are free to the community.  We also sponsor over 100 races and spend much of our effort on helping kids get into and excel at the sport.  We currently are running a free XC camp for kids in Haddonfield.” Not only is he passionate about South Jersey and running, he makes it a point to give back to the entire community.  “All employees live within the community and are a huge part of it,” he adds.  “We also offer discounts to all high school kids, police, fire, EMS and teachers without them having to have a VIP membership.” Welsh’s commitment to his runners, his employees, and his community is a testament to the great things that come from the HRC.
