Powerstep® products should be selected based on your activity level, foot condition(s), shoe type and the amount of cushioning and support you need. See the chart below for assistance. Q. What is the difference between the Original, Pinnacle, Pinnacle Plus, and Pinnacle Maxx styles? A. The Original, Pinnacle, Pinnacle Plus and Pinnacle Maxx all offer cushioning and support; however, the level of cushioning and support varies. The Original is a thinner, lower profile product with moderate cushioning, a built-in arch support and heel cradle. The Original’s ultra-thin design is ideal for shoes with less room at the toes. The Pinnacle, a popular and versatile Powerstep® product, features additional cushioning for increased shock-absorption and is ideal for alleviating pain associated with most common foot conditions.

The Pinnacle Plus combines the cushioning and arch support of the Pinnacle but with an additional metatarsal pad built-in to help align and spread the metatarsal bones to help alleviate Morton's Neuroma. The Pinnacle Maxx features the same maximum cushioning as the Pinnacle except it incorporates a firmer polypropylene inner support shell with a slightly angled heel platform making it more ideal for those experiencing moderate overpronation. Q. What are Archmolds heat-moldable insoles and what are the benefits? A. Archmolds products can be heat-molded to offer a customized fit to your unique foot shape, giving a full-contact support for the foot. Archmolds insoles are ready to wear out of the box and don't have to be heated or trimmed to wear. With continued use the Archmolds will form to your foot structure naturally. Archmolds are available in 5 styles -- the Maximum is the most cushioned for greatest comfort; the Standard has moderate cushioning to fit in more shoe types; the Ultimate offers a more rigid arch and heel cradle for added support;

What is the expected life of a Powerstep® product? A. Exactly how long your Powersteps last depends on wear and care. When used under normal conditions, Powerstep® orthotics should last 6 months or longer.

You can expect the product life to be significantly shorter if you switch your orthotics from shoe to shoe, wear the same pair daily, wear during rigorous activity such as running or working out, etc. Powerstep® orthotics are designed using the highest quality cushioning foams and supportive materials possible but even these high quality materials will break down over time with extended wear and tear. Q. When should I replace my orthotics? A. We recommend replacing your insoles when you begin to notice a decrease in comfort or support. Several factors affect the wear of the product, such as activity, usage and foot structure, but under normal, casual wear, your Powerstep’s should last 6 months or longer. Q. Can Powerstep® orthotics be transferred from shoe to shoe? ® orthotics for each pair of shoes to help extend the product life. Q. Which style of Powerstep® is recommended for running shoes? A. We recommend the PULSE® Performance Orthotics for vigorous activities such as running.

The PULSE® Performance Orthotics are designed with advanced cushioning and an improved durable fabric to foam bond strength for increased durability. The Powerstep® Pinnacle is also suitable and recommended for running or athletic shoes. Q. Where can I purchase the Pulse® Performance Orthotic? A. The Pulse® is only available through independent run specialty stores. They are not available for purchase online. Use our dealer locator to find a store near you. Q. How do I use Powerstep® orthotics? A. Use Powerstep® orthotics as needed for increased comfort in any shoe. If you are not accustomed to wearing arch support orthotics, it may be necessary to wear a few hours a day until your feet are used to better support, and then wear full time. Q. How do I care for my Powerstep® orthotics? A. Spot clean with a mild detergent. Do not immerse in water. Air dry and ensure fully dry before inserting back into shoes. Q. What’s the difference between an orthotic and an insole?

Research has shown that Powerstep® improves foot function, decreases foot pain and increase comfort regardless of the nature of the presenting complaint.1 Powerstep® has also been proven to provide the same therapeutic outcome for heel pain as casted orthotics within 4 weeks of use.2 Use Powerstep® orthotics and the Powerstep® PF Support Sleeves during the day and the Powerstep® Arch Wrap at rest.

Incorporate the Powerstep® UltraStretch® Night Sock or Dorsal Night Splint at night or rest for optimal treatment of plantar fasciitis. Also stretch the foot and leg muscles, tendons and ligaments with the UltraFlexx® Foot Rocker. Q. Are Powerstep® orthotics recommended for overpronation?Powerstep® orthotics are commonly recommended for this foot condition. The encapsulated polypropylene support shell in most Powerstep® products helps control mild pronation. The Pinnacle Maxx features a more firm support shell and a mildly angled heel platform to help address more serious cases of pronating or moderate overpronation. Q. I have high arches. Will Powerstep® help my feet?High arched, supinated feet are tight and rigid feet. Powersteps effectively redistribute the pressures from the ball of the foot and heel, and our deep heel cup helps support and stabilize the heel, ankles and knees to help prevent further outward rotation of the foot. We do, however, recycle over half a million pounds of foam annually during the manufacturing process. We also recycle paper, cardboard, some plastics and all metals to reduce waste in landfills. We encourage the recycling of our cardboard packaging as well. Q. Can I trim my orthotics? A. Because most of our styles come in 7 or more sizes, our orthotics offer a truer fit to your shoe size.
